What's Kickin' at the School

Master Yun, Assemblyman James Tedesco, Assemblyman George Amadore
Special congratulations to Master Yun who received the 2008 "40 Under Forty" Business Award at the annual Business Review luncheon on May 1, 2008. Master Yun was one of 40 winners selected out of over 300 nominations. This award recognizes business achievement and commitment to community service.
Testing Schedule Reminder: The only evening classes held during testing week will be the 4:00 and 4:45 class. Hapkido class will only be held on Tuesday and Thursday during testing.
Good Luck to David O'Neil, Lou DeFelippo, and Amber DeFelippo who are testing for their Master Rank of 4th Degree Black Belt on Saturday may 10th.
Class Schedule Alert: There will be no classes on Saturday, May 24th and Monday, May 26th in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
Buddy Classes will be Thursday, May 15th and Friday, May 16th. Bring a friend or several friends with you to class and earn a spin on the "prize wheel."
Graduation Ceremony: Saturday, May 17th at 6:00 pm at the Genet School Auditorium. Students are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony and come in full uniform. Please make note of the change in date!!!!
Memorial Day Parade: On Saturday, May 24th, Columbia Tae Kwon Do will participate in the annual parade. All students and family members are invited to march in the parade. More details will be announced during classes.
Summer Uniform: After Memorial Day, starting Tuesday, May 27th, students can wear Columbia Tae Kwon Do tee shirts with their uniform pants and belt as their summer uniform. We will have tie-dye shirts arriving by mid May for our 2008 summer t-shirt!

State Champions !
Three students competed in the New York State Cahmpionships on May 3rd in Queens New York and returned victoriously. We are very proud of these hard working students!

TKD Tidbits
"got shoes?" as part of their community service, two of our students Ben and Sam Koblensky are organizing a campaign to donate shoes. We will have a drop box available at the school through May 31st. Please help them reach their goal of collecting 500 pairs of shoes and donate all the shoes you no longer want or wear!
Summer Camp will be held August 4th through Friday, August 8th. Mark your calendar now and don't miss out on our fun and exciting summer camp! Registration forms will be available by the end of May. Only one session will be offered for the summer.
